About Pastor Hal Hightower
Bro. Hal grew up in a small town in Nevada, and was saved as a teenager at church camp in July of 1969. He was called to preach in March of 1973, and graduated from Bob Jones University in 1977 with a degree in Bible.
After Bible college, Bro. Hal served as a Christian school teacher and assistant pastor for 6 years before accepting the position of pastor at a small church in Hadley, Michigan in 1983. After 5 years in Hadley, the Lord moved him to take the pastorate at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lebanon, Missouri, where he served as pastor for the next 15 years. God blessed the church as it grew from and average of 165 in 1988 to an average of 450 in 2003 when he resigned. In February of 2003, after 21 total years in the pastorate, he resigned as the pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church to enter full-time evangelism. In January of 2015, after 12 years in evangelism, the Lord called Bro. Hal to pastor the Rochester Hills Baptist Church.
Bro. Hal and his wife Karen have been married for 38 years. They have one son, Jeremiah, who serves on staff at RHBC. The Hightowers have two grandchildren, Tyler and Kyle.
